2022 WINTER & SPRING  SESSIONS 
Class scheduling has changed due to COVID-19. We are following all the protocols for Contra Costa County in sanitizing our studio. For now, Students will  have their temperature taken upon entering the studio, must wear a face covering at all times, use hand sanitizer coming in and leaving. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they want, I do have gloves available too. We will make sure your student is safe and stays healthy while they're here with us!   

Please note: Once the in studio class starts the same students will remain together for 6 - 8 weeks and taught by Nationally Award Winning Artist, Pat Moseuk. Unfortunately no late registrations right now! If you miss a class during a session, only 1 make-up class is permitted. Please register or call before the class begins, they will fill up fast due to limitations. Descriptions of Fine Art Classes:   

Drawing and Painting Animals:  Mondays  3:30-4:30 pm (ages 6-11) $108 

In the class the students will learn to draw their favorite animals by using simple shapes, color and composition, while using a variety of mediums: graphite, pen, markers, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic. If you have a few real good photos of your pet, please bring it in and I will show you how to draw or paint them!


Portraiture: Mondays 4:45 - 5:45 pm (ages 11-17) $108      

Students will work in charcoal, pastels, pen, colored pencil, cont`e  and graphite, rendering realistically from photo references and emphasizing value and line.  Learn to draw real life portraits, study different styles, we will discuss influential portrait artists and study the anatomy of the face. 
 

Beginning Watercolor and Colored Pencil: Tuesdays 3:15 - 4:15 pm (ages 6 - 10)

Students will learn the basic skills of watercolor, how to float paint, several techniques to create texture and a color wheel. We will learn about the papers and brushes used and create mixed media paintings using colored pencil.


Beginning and Intermediate Painting with Acrylics:  Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 pm

(ages 8-17) $108

Painting from life and photo reference, students will learn the classical style of painting with acrylics. We will learn about color mixing and how to create several techniques. The subjects that we will study are landscapes, seascapes, still life and animals. If you have a great photo or download you would like to use, please bring it in. 

  

*Class Not Available  Art with the Masters:   
Students will work in several mediums creating works by Van Gogh, Matisse, Warhol Monet, Picasso etc... We will cover their techniques, composition, color and history, while creating our own interpretation.

 Abstract Art & Mixed Media: Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 (10-17) $108
In this class we will learn about the abstract artists of the 50's and 60's and learn their techniques and how to use our intuition when creating art. We will explore using different mediums such as acrylic and watercolor paint, gels, glue, assorted papers, ink and pastels to create texture and form on to several surfaces. 


Combination Pokemon & Cartoon:  Wednesdays  2:00-3:00 pm (ages 5-10) $108

The basics of cartooning are discussed-including history, types of cartooning, standard cartooning. Materials, humor, storytelling, composition and creating your own personal style. Hands-on learning. Fun  guaranteed!  


Drawing Animals: Wednesdays  3:15-4:15 pm (ages 6-10)  $108
In this class students will learn to draw their favorite animals by using simple shapes, color and composition, while using a variety of mediums: graphite, pen & ink, colored pencil, watercolor, markers, pastels & charcoal. *Class Not Available: Wire sculpture: Wednesdays  4:30-5:30 pm (ages 10-15)    
Create a modern figure or animal sculpture in wire and learn about the artist Alberto Giacometti, famous for the Walking Man. Students will create a sculpture that looks like a real metal sculpture, by using varies materials.   


Beginning Class: Fundamentals of Basic Drawing (8 weeks $144)

Thursdays       3:15-4:15 pm (ages 5-10)             4:30-5:30 pm (ages 11-16) 
In this class the students will learn the elements of shape, perspective, color wheel, composition, design, texture, value and line, in addition, a series of warm-ups first in every class, will allow the students to observe what they are drawing. The students will work in pencil, Prismacolor markers and pen. 



*Class Not Available Print Making: Fridays 4:30-5:30 pm (ages 12-16)   6 weeks $110
Woodcut is one of the oldest and simplest forms of printmaking. Students will use various hand tools to cut their drawn image into a block of linoleum. Paper is placed over the inked block and rubbed by hand, using a tool to transfer the ink from block to paper to create the image. We will also learn about the history.



                                                         





After school enrichment classes are taught Monday thru Friday. Students are exposed to the classical elements and principles of art technique and history. Within the classroom there is only positive feedback, as this establishes a strong foundation for self-esteem and respect for one another. Your child will be enriched with confidence, self-discipline and an incredible sense of  accomplishment.  All supplies are included, except the adult classes and non-toxic professional materials are used.


Private lessons & home school enrichment classes are taught during the day 10 am-1:30 pm, Mon Tues Thurs & Fri; no home school classes on Saturday.

HOME SCHOOL ART EDUCATION:  There is a min. of 5  max. of 8 students per class. We have a four month long curriculum. Please call now and register to sign up for the session. Currently, we are a vendor for Visions. The class is held on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 12:30-2:00 pm, 90 minute class once a week. The first two months the students learn the fundamentals of drawing: elements of shape, perspective, composition, design and texture. We will use pencil, cont`e, charcoal, pen & ink, markers. Students will learn about and apply watercolor, acrylic, pastels and create color wheels. They will learn art technique, history and about the artists who represented an era. All professional supplies are included.


In all the classes, there is a minimum of 3 maximum of 8 students per class. The classes are small, so that students can receive individual attention. Majority of the classes are 6 - 8 week sessions, 1 hour, once a week for $108.00. Art demonstrations in every class, taught by professional artists and all art supplies included.
