Beginning Class: Fundamentals of Basic Drawing (8wk session $120.00)

Thursdays  3:15-4:15pm (ages 6-10)        4:15-5:15pm (ages 11-16)

In this class the students will learn the elements of shape, perspective, composition, design, texture, value and line, in addition, a series of warm-ups first in every class, will allow the students to observe what they are drawing. The students will work in pencil, markers, pen and ink. 

Advanced Drawing:Mondays  4:15-5:15pm (ages 11-16) $90

The students will learn 1, 2, 3 pt. perspective, using positive and negative space when composing and designing, value, line and technique. The students will work in charcoal, pastels, conte and graphite, rendering realistically from photo reference and life. 

Drawing Animals:Mondays  3:15-4:15pm (ages 6-10) $90

In this class students will learn to draw their favorite animals by using simple shapes, color and composition, while using a variety of mediums: graphite, pen & ink, markers, pastels & charcoal. If you have a real good photo of one of your pets, please bring it in and I will show you how to draw them!

Watercolor & Colored Pencil:Wednesdays  3:15-4:15 pm (ages 6-10) $90

Students will have fun exploring these 2 mediums. We will learn to draw from shape, create a color wheel, learn about techniques, texture, value, different brushes and papers used.  

Art with the Masters:  Fridays 3:15-4:15 pm (ages 6-10) $90

Students will work in several mediums creating works by Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, and Picasso. We will cover their techniques, compostion, color and history, while creating our own interpretation. 

Wire sculpture: Wednesdays  4:30-5:30 pm  (ages 10-15)  $90 

Create a modern figure or animal sculpture in wire and learn about the artist Alberto Giacometti, famous for the Walking Man. Students will create a sculpture that looks like a real metal sculpture, by using varies materials.   

CLASS NOT AVAILABLEBeg. & Adv. Oils:Thursdays 3:30-5:00 pm (ages 11-17) $90

Learn classical style in painting, like the old masters. Primary focus will be on the development of each student’s personal style & ability. Emphasis on composition, value, and technique,. Students must know how to draw. Work primarily from photo or painting references. Materials fee $10.00

Combination Pokemon & Cartooning:Wednesdays 2:00-3:00 pm (ages 6-10) $90

The basics of cartooning are discussed-including history, types of cartooning, standard cartooning. Materials, humor, storytelling, composition and creating your own personal style. Hands-on learning. Fun  guaranteed!

Advanced Acrylics & Watercolor: Fridays  4:15-5:15 pm (ages 11-16) $90
Students must have experience with this medium, advanced concepts are discussed and employed. Class is similar to the oil class.

Portraiture:Mondays 5:30-6:30pm (ages 11-16) $90

 Learn to draw real life portraits. We will discuss influential portrait artists, study the anatomy of the face and emphasize value and line. Students will work in multiple drawing mediums. 
                                                           NEW CLASSES FOR SUMMER & FALL 2016
Class unavailable at this time: Manga & Anime:Tuesdays  3:30-5:30 (ages 9-17) 

In this class students will create their own Japanese-style comic books, animation or both. Students will practice drawing, character design, story telling and computer animation. Computers will be provided for the students to work on while in class.                                                                          

Art with the Masters: Students will work in several mediums and have fun learning about Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and Matisse. We will explore their techniques, color and composition working on different surfaces. 

Floral Painting: Students will paint in Acrylic and Watercolor, while experimenting in mixed media and collage. We will work from reference materials, still life and our imaginations. 

After school enrichment classes are taught Monday thru Friday. Students are exposed to the classical elements and principles of art technique and history. Within the classroom there is only positive feedback, as this establishes a strong foundation for self-esteem and respect for one another. Your child will be enriched with confidence, self-discipline and an incredible sense of   accomplishment. All supplies are included, except the adult classes and non-toxic professional materials are used.

Private lessons, home school enrichment classes, and senior citizens sessions, are taught during the day 10am-1:30pm, Mon-Fri; no home school classes on Saturday. Mondays & Wednesdays adult classes 10 am- 12:00 $25.00  Please bring your own supplies. Please call to schedule a class. 925-472-0715

HOME SCHOOL ART EDUCATION:  There is a min. of 6, max. of 8 students per class. We have a four month long curriculum. Please call now and register to sign up for the session. Currently, we are a vendor for Visions and Pacific Charter. The class is held on Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 12:30-2:00pm, 90 minute class once a week for $90.00 per month. The first two months the students learn the fundamentals of drawing: elements of shape, perspective, composition ,design,and texture. We will use pencil, conte, charcoal, pen & ink, markers. Students will learn about and apply watercolor, acrylic, pastels and create color wheels. They will learn art technique, history and about the artists who represented an era. All professional supplies are included.

There is a minimum of 3 maximum of 8 students per class. The classes are small, so that students can receive individual attention. Majority of the classes are 6 wk sessions, 1 hour, once a week for $90.00. Art demonstrations in every class,  taught by professional artists and art supplies included.
